Gentle on Nature and People
Craftsmanship Rooted in Tradition
We live in an age overflowing with things.
It is precisely in such times that we feel the importance ofpreserving traditional Japanese techniques, honoring skilled artisans, and cherishing nature’s many gifts. Japan is home to countless remarkable craftspeople.
Our approach to making things always begins by visiting these artisans directly—meeting them face to face, hearing their voices, and learning from their expertise.
Natural materials, it’s true, may be prone to pilling or distortion over time.
Some may find them delicate or difficult to care for.
But that's also what makes them special—natural materials possess a warmth and texturethat synthetic alternatives simply cannot replicate.
Over time, you develop a fondness for them.
They become a comforting part of daily life, making each day feel a little richer.
We want to create things that are kind to both people and nature.Things that age beautifully with the person who uses them.
We hope everyone involved in the process of making our products can feel a sense of happiness.
With these values in our hearts, we continue our work—one piece at a time.

Moved to Akizuki in Asakura, Fukuoka, and was introduced to natural dyeing at my family’s workshop, Yumesaiku.
Majored in textile arts at Tokyo University of the Arts. While studying traditional dyeing techniques, I also explored innovative expressions like natural dyeing on leather. Since 2010, I has been in charge of knit production at MAITO.
Currently based in Senshu, Osaka, I leads all knitwear planning and manufacturing for Maito Design Works at the Senshu Knit Factory.
